OXO Tower, 2013, oil on canvas, 66 x 51 cm

On one of my visits to the Tate Modern, I was struck by the reflections of artificial lights against the inner city architecture and off the river, particularly at night. The silhouettes of buildings and lights glowing through the darkness creates the impression of frantic activity set against the warmth of the night sky.

The argument between creationism and evolutionism comes together in this painting, influenced by Surrealism.

2012 Apocalypse and the 23 Redundancies, 2009-11, oil on canvas (3 panels), 366 x 152.5 cm

This painting depicts an apocalyptic end to the world in 2012, preceded by the redundancy of myself and 22 others in 2011; everything apparently coming to an end or, marking a new beginning.

The Resurrection

The Resurrection, 2008, oil on canvas, 91.5 x 122 cm

This painting continues to make me question where an artist's creativity stems from. I started with a blank canvas and no ideas of what to paint - just random brush marks across four main areas.
It developed into a complex painting, with a religious theme set against a theatrical background of Christian concepts about good verses evil.

Fishing Boats (Louciano), 2007, oil on canvas, 152.5 x 122 cm

This painting marked my return to art and presented me with many challenges and not all of them creative or technical; the need for time to paint and appropriate space to paint in were also concerns I had to overcome.
